As an avid skater, surfer and active community member, 14 year-old James Granoff has helped transform his local Recreation Center, located in Wilmington California, into a cool, positive and uplifting place to hang out and learn. The Recreation center holds community oriented events including special occasion gatherings like Birthday parties and Holiday parties as well as a camp for kids during the summer and winter where they can cruise around the skate park, play softball in the baseball diamond and play basketball at the court provided. Genuinely, it is a place that can be used by teens to better themselves in mind, spirit and body for many generations to come. James’ personal contributions to the recreation center include the addition of new computer equipment and comfy couches as well as excellent surf and skate pictures. Carver Skateboards pitched in with our donation of a life-sized skate photo to promote the stoke and love for skateboarding throughout the fortunate generations of teens who will be using the renovated space. In addition to his dedicated community service activities, James Granoff is an accomplished Eagle Scout, fisherman and an experienced martial artist who has earned his brown belt with two black stripes. He enjoys skating on the local strand and on the big hills of beautiful El Segundo, California. James continues to actively pursue his passion for photography which is evident in the many amazing photos he took in the recreation center.
